Sometimes you just got to yelll.....

SHUT THE PHUK UP.
For the love that is good and holy, one of our tech support people who works outside my office prattles on daily. I mean, she never shuts the fuck up. It is killing me. I want to buy her a muzzle. If she was just working, I would care a little less. Currently she is yammering on about her world travels. Who cares. I dont.

See, now that I put that here, maybe I wont throttle her.

My most favorite places in the world.

Well there are a few places-
Hotels:
Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island
The W in New Orleans
The Plaza in NYC
Hotel San Jose in Austin

Stores:
Nordstroms in the middle of a shoe sale
Williams Sonoma
Sephora
Your Living Room

Random other places:
my backyard on a cool spring night with a drink, a smoke and Deano playing on the stereo.
The French Outpost on Mackinac Island, BW3's in Mt. Pleasant, MI, Mugshots in Austin, Texas, and most recently a little crush on The Sidebar in Austin.

How music soothes the savage beasts...

I associate music with memories. The day my mom drove me to the airport to move to Texas, "Wide Open Spaces" was playing on her stereo. My first "time" - Bell Biv Devoe "Do Me"- sad but true, my first really good kiss " Son of a Preacher Man", The greatest summer of my life is defined by Indigo Girls "Closer to Fine". I could go on for hours. My friends joke and call me a walking iPod- I can pull a song out of my ass for any occasion. I just love music. Music makes me laugh, cry and pensive all in the course of 3 or 4 songs. I remember the song that was playing at my Grandfathers funeral "I'll Be Seeing You." I cry everytime I hear that song. Certain songs harken back to the time of my childhood- for some reason Peter Gabriels "Sledgehammer" reminds me of the fourth grade. Lord, I was weird even back then loving the "alt" songs.
A list of my favorites:
Aretha Franklin- Do Right
Bill Withers - I wanna spend the night
Indigo Girls- Closer to Fine
Fugees- Killing Me Softly ( I like that version better than Roberta Flack)
Micheal Buble- Home
George Micheal- Kissing a Fool
Barbra Striesand- Sadie
Frank Sinatra- The Best is Yet to Come
Dean Martin- Sway, Powder your Face with Sunshine
Doris Day- Love Somebody
Tracy Lawrence- Is that a tear in your eye?
Peter Gabriel- In Your Eyes, Dont Give Up
Sarah McLaughlin- Ice Cream
Pixies- Where is my mind?
The La's - There She Goes
Billy Joel- Only the Good Die Young
Cure- Pictures of You, Lullaby
Queen- Somebody to Love

My god, there are soo many more

My very first blog

This is it. I am joining the masses and starting my very own blog. Not quite sure what this means, but I think its going to give me a venue to talk about whatever is in this head of mine. This week, I am consumed by work, and Relay for Life. I am participating in my first Relay Friday night at the Berger Center in Austin. I have raised over 500 bucks for the event, and cant wait to be a part of the night. I have talked to many people about the Relay and they said it was one of the most influential nights in their lives. So many people I know have been impacted by cancer- my friend Jeff Sample, taken away from us a few years ago. My grandmother Nedra- who was diagonsed with Breast Cancer in her 80's for lords sake. A business associate of mine, Ryan, is undergoing radiation right now. Some of us were lucky- found the cancer and got rid of it ASAP. Others are not. I just want to do what I can to help raise money for more research.

So, this is my first entry. Kind of sad.
